Ages 14-18 by Audution and Application
Enrollment limited to 25
TITLE TBA, July 11th @ 8:00 p.m.
TITLE TBA, July 12th @ 3:00 p.m.
$200 covers 10 four-hour days of instruction and rehearsal and includes admission for TWENTY of the young actor's adoring fans. Would-be theatre artists will receive a unique backstage view of the workings of a resident theatre company. While Theatre of the American West's resident company rehearses for its July 24 opening of Grease, 14 to 18 year olds will rehearse and build their own performance under the guidance of working theatre artists. Includes admission for the student to the July 4, 5, or 6 performance of Pippin and the July 12 performance of the Playwrights' Festival selection.
Lodging and meal arrangements can be made if distances make that more convenient than day-tripping. We will adhere to a basic 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with call at 1:00 p.m. for rehearsal and performance on Friday July 11. Call is TBA for performance on Saturday July 12.
Theatre of the American West staff supervising the workshop will include Artistic Director, Kris Davies, who holds an MFA in Costume Design and an MA in Speech; Business Manager, Ryan Brehmer, who holds a BS in Speech and Theatre; and Company Manager and Technical Director, Dustin Witte, who holds BAs in English and Theatre. Kris has taught Theatre at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and Cornell College, has taught Summer Honors, and is a mother of four, age 19-28. Dustin judges NSAA Speech. Ryan can usually be trusted not to leave children alone with power tools. All kidding aside, we look forward to sharing the world of theatre with young artists.
