Theatre of the American West - Driving Directions

Below is a Google Map of the vicinity. Republican City is on US Highway 136 between Alma (8 miles West), and Franklin (14 miles East), NE, 8 miles from the Kansas border. Kearney, NE is only 67 miles away, about an hour and fifteen minutes South on US-183 (via Elm Creek, Holdrege, and turning East at Alma) OR NE-10 (via Minden and turning West at Franklin) then US-136. Hastings, NE is only 78 miles, less than two hours South on US-281 then West at Red Cloud on US-136. We are only 35 miles from Phillipsburg, KS via US-183, 47 miles from Norton,KS via KS-383. We are less than 100 miles from Hays, KS, Cozad, NE, and McCook, NE. Once you arrive in Republican City, turn South off US-136 onto the divided, tree-lined boulevard called Berrigan Road. There's no sign, so look for The Island (lounge and fuel stop) and the empty lot across from it. Don't drive down the wrong side of the road - pull into the grassy, gravelly lot in front of the big mural and barnwood opera house facade. Park using common sense and then walk carefully through the uneven grassy lot, or feel free to get out closer to the building and have one of us park your car for you if you need us to. Busses can pull right up to the front door for convenient access.
