Theatre of the American West has historically performed a Main Season of 6-8 plays in Republican City from April or May to December since 1996. Beginning in 2008, between TOTAW's Main Season and the new Frontier Season, performances in Republican City will run March through December, offering about 15 titles. Theatre of the American West also tours within about a 200 mile radius, frequently to Clarkson, Red Cloud, and Holdrege, Nebraksa, and occasionally to McCook and Kearney Nebraska, and Smith Center, Norton, and Oberlin, Kansas. Theatre of the American West is located 1 mile North of the Harlan County Lake at Republican City, Nebraska. Theatre of the American West, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Theatre of the American West is something of an experiment in economic and artistic models. Most company members move into the building (the abandoned Republican City School) - a combined residential and performance space. TOTAW is actively seeking qualified and interested parties to work with us. Theatre of the American West seeks actors, designers, technicians, grant writers, business partners, and members of the community to help us continue our mission.
